A while ago now, maybe two or three years ago, maybe more, I decided to embark on a new venture. Oil painting. Something I had always wanted to do but never had the time or the spare income to do anything about it. I enrolled on a course at the local college and every week I and my peers convened to learn the art of slapping paint on canvas. Properly.
The course soon finished but I found it difficult to find time in a busy life to set up my paints, brushes and canvases in the kitchen to spend several hours playing…to then clear it all up again. No wonder budding artists desperately want a studio.
I produced a couple of finished paintings, one of which hangs on my parents’ kitchen wall, the smaller two on mine.
I will get back to painting. One day.
